MANILA – Did you know that Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach went through similar journeys as beauty queens?

Third time’s the charm for these two ladies. Like Wurtzbach, Huelar finished as a runner-up on her first try, made it to the Top 15 on her second try, and won a Bb. Pilipinas crown on her third attempt.

“I felt I was happy, I was contented with my life. Ayoko na ring masaktan,” Huelar said in an exclusive interview with Metro.Style as she recalled the deadline of applications for Bb. Pilipinas 2018.

“I told myself, ‘Jehza, focus. You can’t let this pass by again for the third time. Jehza, kunin mo na ‘yung korona.’”

Huelar is one of the many Filipina beauty queens inspired by Wurtzbach’s determination to conquer the pageant stage.

Bb. Pilipinas 2016, for instance, has been dubbed by pageant fans as “a year of repeaters,” given the number of candidates who have joined on their second or third try.
