MANILA – Real estate mogul Victor Consunji is literally going the extra mile to help children in need.
Consunji took part in the 2018 Marathon Des Sables, dubbed as the “toughest foot race on earth,” in southern Morocco from April 8 to 16.
He and his race partner, Enrico Menichetti, had to run a total of 250 kilometers in a span of a week.
They have partnered with World Vision to help raise funds for marginalized children in the country, with Consunji offering to match all donations.
“Vic has pledged to match all donations peso for peso, dollar for dollar, so please show some support for their superhuman effort by donating any amount, big or small,” Consunji’s wife, former beauty queen Maggie Wilson, said in an Instagram post over the weekend.
“To everyone who has donated already, who sent him messages of encouragement, for all the love and support, thank you! It means a lot to me and Vic!” she added.
In a post on the website of Simply Giving, Consunji and Menichetti said the donations will go to World Vision’s programs on health, nutrition, and education.
Consunji is the grandson of contractor David Consunji of DMCI.
He is the first Filipino to have joined and finished the North Pole Marathon.
