Twenty-one-year old Jireh Bautista is no stranger to receiving awards.

He has been reaping medals since he was young. He graduated first honor from elementary, and was the valedictorian of his batch in Cebu City National Science High School. He was even awarded the ABS-CBN Medal of Excellence.

His latest achievement is graduating with a bachelor's degree in computer science, summa cum laude, from Cebu Institute of Technology - University.

Bautista's father is a shoe repair man, while his mother is a housewife. He helps his family with the monthly allowance he gets from his scholarship grants.

"Never give up and always put God first," Bautista said.

His secret to his good grades is diligence and prayer.

He plans to take a short rest after graduation, despite receiving job offers from various companies.

He wants to be a software engineer and is still looking for a company that would suit him.
