CEBU -- Meet 21 year-old Jay Kummer "Dodoy" Teberio. He is a bottled water vendor who dreams of becoming a teacher.

Dodoy stands out from other vendors. He wears a wide-brimmed hat with flowers, red lipstick and a big smile which amuses his customers.

He lives in a small shanty in Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Carreta, Cebu City with his parents, nieces and nephews.

His parents said they allowed Dodoy to become a vendor as they barely have enough to make ends meet. Dodoy earns P500 a day selling water. What he earns, he shares with his family.

Despite his poverty, Dodoy was determined to finish college and become a teacher.

And now his dream of becoming a teacher is set to be fulfilled. He just finished his practicum at Mabolo National High School and his students said they are inspired by his story.

On March 14, Dodoy will graduate from the University of Cebu with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Major in Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health.

Dodoy said that poverty has never been a barrier for him to reach his dreams.
