MANILA (UPDATED) – Aicelle Santos has been added to the cast of the current UK tour of “Miss Saigon.”

From April 30, she will take on the role of Gigi, which was also played by Rachelle Ann Go.

"She is scheduled to fly out [on the] third week of March for Manchester to train and transition," her handler, Stages Talents, said in a message to ABS-CBN News.

"Aicelle is contracted to join the tour for a period of 10 months to a year. She is thrilled, excited and in high spirits for what has happened."

Santos currently stars in 9 Works Theatrical and The Sandbox Collective’s restaging of “Himala,” the musical based on the multi-awarded Nora Aunor movie.

She is also known for her roles as Aileen in "Rak of Aegis" and as Perla in "Maynila Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag," for which she won Best Actress at the 30th Aliw Awards last year.

Santos joins other Pinoy singers in the tour, including Red Concepcion and Gerald Santos, both of whom were earlier cast as The Engineer and Thuy, respectively.

Other than Santos, British actress Elana Martin as Ellen was also part of the new casting announcement made Friday.

Also new to the tour are Iroy Abesamis, Jonathon Bentley, Devine Cresswell, Ross Lee Fowkes, Yukina Hasebe, Rob Herron, Jade Ma, Samuel Nicholas, Pierce Rogan, and Louis Stockil.

Further new faces are Joaquin Pedro Valdes, Brad Veitch, Gabriella Williams, Zheng Xi Yong and Sian Yeo.
