MANILA – Broadcaster Korina Sanchez recently made headlines for her new look which, she said, involved more than a non-invasive cosmetic procedure.

Many Filipinos were surprised last week after seeing a billboard showing Sanchez with a much smaller face and tanned skin.

The former “TV Patrol” anchor mentioned the benefits of thermage, which involved “deep heat infusion through radio frequency that makes the skin tight.”

But in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Sanchez spoke at length about why she looks “different,” saying it involved a change in her lifestyle.

“Way before this, I had dieted and stayed disciplined about how and what I eat. I lost 15 lbs and I became physically active like I never was before. My husband and I took up an advanced deep sea diving course, we walked a lot, we climbed mountains (literally). I do weights,” she said, referring to former senator Mar Roxas.

Regarding her complexion, Sanchez said: “I stayed under the sun a lot by choice because I like having color.”

Sanchez went on to share why she opted to endorse an anti-aging procedure offered by a local clinic.

“The improvements [in lifestyle] were a process and because I lost weight, my face started to tumble down,” she said.

“Why do I look different? Kasi I got thinner, I got darker, I curled my hair which I never did before, and I’ve also never shown as much skin as I did so publicly in the [bill] board,” she added. “Alam niyo na, a newscaster is always in corporate attire, balot na balot. Haha!”
