CEBU CITY – Tomas Osmeña is back as mayor of Cebu City, defeating incumbent mayor Michael Rama.

Osmeña obtained 267,222 votes while Rama got 233, 186. Team Rama's Edgardo Labella was reelected vice mayor.

Rama, however, refused to concede and said he will remain in his office while his supporters hold a prayer rally outside city hall.

Osmeña said that on his first 100 days, he will go around the city and ask officials and residents what services they need from the city government.

In Mandaue City, majority of winners belong to the Liberal Party. Rep. Luigi Quisumbing was proclaimed the city's new mayor along with running-mate Carlo Fortuna.

In Lapu-Lapu City, the entire slate of DERETSO, a local ally of the Liberal Party, won. Mayor Paz Radaza was reelected, beating five other candidates.

Marcial Ycong was reelected vice mayor and Radaza's daughter Aileen was elected as the lone district's representative.

As of writing, canvassing was ongoing for provincial posts at the Cebu Capitol Social Hall. Incumbent Governor Hilario Davide III, meanwhile, is leading the gubernatorial race.
