BICOL - Camaries Sur Rep. Leni Robredo on Saturday again crossed paths with farmers from Sumilao, Bukidnon, who are holding a caravan to support her vice-presidential bid.

Robredo met the farmers in front of the grave of her late husband, former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo.

She first met the famers in 2007 when they traveled 1,700 kms from Bukidnon to Malacañang, with an appeal to reclaim their ancestral land.

The Robredo couple was among those who helped the Sumilao farmers in their plight.

Out of gratitude, the Sumilao farmers launched their March Caravan for Robredo in April.

Speaking of their encounter and the farmers' support, Robredo said: "Nagpapasalamat po ako na parang déjà vu kasi nine years ago, ako rin iyung sumalubong sa kanila. Parang nakakataba naman ng puso, ngayon ang pinaglalaban na nila ay ang pagtulong sa akin."

Robredo also bought cakes and balloons for a young birthday celebrant among the farmers.

A priest blessed the farmers before they left Naga.

The last stop of their caravan is Robredo's miting de avance at Quezon Memorial Circle on May 7. -- Rizza Mostar, ABS-CBN News Bicol
