DAVAO CITY - The Duterte administration will soon begin talks with incoming vice president Leni Robredo for a possible active role in the new administration, according to Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.

Cayetano, who was the running mate of Duterte, is in Davao City to meet with the incoming president to finalize new appointees to the official Duterte Cabinet to be announced next week.

Cayetano acknowledged that some of Duterte's choices so far have been questioned by some quarters, but the senator called on the public to trust the incoming president and support his decisions.

Robredo earlier expressed desire to champion the concerns of the poor.

According to Cayetano, the new administration will look into the possibility of creating a new department for Robredo for this purpose.
