MANILA -- Australian TV presenter Paul Murray of Foxtel Network has described Filipino presidential aspirant Rodrigo Duterte as an "evil b***" upon hearing the Davao City mayor's remarks about an Australian rape-slay victim.

Murray, in his April 19 show, showed the controversial video of Duterte during his campaign rally at the Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City on April 12 wherein he said the rape victim was beautiful, and it was too bad that a mayor wasn't the first to get to her.

Murray then told his viewers to tear up their tickets and avoid going to the Philippines if the Davao City mayor becomes president.

Duterte's remarks have made headlines in international news organizations, such as BBC, CNN, and the Washington Post.

Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Amanda Gorely on April 18 said in a tweet that jokes must not be made about victims of rape and murder.

Rape and murder should never be joked about or trivialised. Violence against women and girls is unacceptable anytime, anywhere.

Duterte has apologized for his remarks on the rape victim.

However, he later told the ambassadors of the United States and Australia to "shut their mouths," adding that he is willing to see the two countries cut their diplomatic ties with the Philippines if he becomes president.
