PANGASINAN - Confident of victory in the upcoming May 9 elections, the common-law wife of presidential bet, Rodrigo Duterte has vowed to "bring simplicity to Malacanang."

Cielito "Honeylet" Avanceña said the Philippines will see a cost-efficient leadership when her partner becomes president.

"We'll bring simplicity to Malacanang. Kung ano yung [usual] pagkain namin, 'yun ang ise-serve," she told ABS-CBN News Digital at the sidelines of the PiliPinas Debates 2016 in University of Pangasinan Sunday.

She said Duterte is already happy with banana fritters and ginisang munggo.

"Mura lang iyon. Makakatipid sa kaniya ang Pilipinas. Kung nasa gobyerno ka, you will have to be careful in spending," Avanceña added.

Avanceña also lauded her partner's performance in the final debate, emphasizing that Duterte has already proven he deserves to become president.

"He was very presidentiable. Siya ang nasa gitna. Lahat ng sagot niya, okay. Kaya na niya sumagot kasi the people have spoken. He's now the number one. Nasa top na siya," Avanceña said.

Duterte is leading the presidential race, based on recent surveys by Pulse Asia and Social Weather Stations (SWS).

Despite Duterte's attacks against opponents during the debate, Avanceña said Duterte will not be a divisive leader.

"If he becomes president, kaibigan niya lahat. Everybody will become his friends," she added.
