MANILA - Two overseas Filipino workers convicted and serving their respective sentences for criminal offenses in Oman have been pardoned by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

The Royal Pardon was granted to the two OFWs, whose names were not yet revealed, on the occasion of the Isa Wal Miraj last May 5.

The Philippine embassy in Muscat welcomed the positive development and likewise expressed its gratitude to the Sultanate for its strong cooperation with the Philippine government on OFW concerns.

The embassy is now coordinating with Omani authorities for the early repatriation of the pardoned OFWs.
