In an interview with KUAM this afternoon Quinit says the video was shot last year outside his home in Yigo. He says he recently got a new phone and the old videos accidentally uploaded to his facebook account. He adds that he does not live in a residential neighborhood but an agricultural area. The Guam Police Department meanwhile is conducting an investigation.

Edgardo Quinit charged in separate gun firing incident in 2006

Guam police are investigating a Filipino-American who uploaded on Facebook just after New Year's day several videos showing him and other men firing automatic rifles in the air.

In an interview with Kuam News, Edgardo Quinit claimed that one of the videos was shot last year outside his home in Yigo, Guam.

Quinit also claimed that he recently got a new phone and the old videos were "accidentally uploaded" on his Facebook account.

He said that he does not live in a residential neighborhood but an agricultural area.

The Guam Police Department confirms it is working with the ATF to investigate a video that has gone viral on social media depicting several people firing guns into the air. The video has caught the attention of media in the Philippines. Several news organizations in Manila have reported that the video was uploaded onto the Facebook account of Edgardo Quinit this month. Initially it was believed the video was shot in the Philippines, but investigators in the Philippines determined that the video was shot here in Guam. The video has since been taken down from Quinit's Facebook account.

An Edgardo Quinit was also arrested in 2006 in Yigo, Guam for shooting a .45 caliber pistol twice in the air, according to Kuam News.

Guam Police Department spokesperson Officer Allan Guzman recalled they received a call regarding shots fired in the Yigo area. When police arrived, they found Quinit, who allegedly had an argument with the driver of another vehicle.

Quinit was charged with illegal discharge of a firearm in the 2006 incident. The report did not say if Quinit was found guilty and jailed regarding the incident.
