MANILA – As a daughter of one of the finest actresses in the country, Riya Atayde would probably have to work extra harder to prove that she is worthy of the limelight.

The 24-year-old daughter of Sylvia Sanchez is set to topbill the anniversary episode of "Ipaglaban Mo," with budding actor RK Bagatsing.

Atayde, a communication graduate of De La Salle University, was featured in the Lenten drama segment of "It's Showtime" where she got to work with Karylle and Mariel Rodriguez.

She also portrayed a teacher in the now-defunct daytime drama series "Ningning."

According to the showbiz newcomer, she takes advice from her mother and brother Arjo Atayde, who plays a major antagonist on the top-rating prime time series "Ang Probinsyano."

The younger Atayde said her brother advised her to "be natural" in her acting. Her mother, meanwhile, advised her to use her heart in every scene.

When asked if she is in a relationship, she just quipped: "It's complicated."
