MANILA, Philippines — Thuy Nguyen, a Vietnamese woman born in Tacloban city, has become the first regular adult housemate to be eliminated from this season's "Pinoy Big Brother."

Nguyen was evicted on Saturday after she finished a challenge with the slowest time among the nominated housemates that included Cora Waddell, Luis Hontiveros and Wil Dasovich.

Filipinos first met Nguyen after she became a part of the celebrity edition as a house guest.

Nguyen earned herself an automatic nomination after violating several in-house rules such as talking without a lapel and gossiping about the "outside world."

During her stint inside Big Brother's house, Nguyen also clashed with Waddell's no-nonsense style of leadership. She admitted that she felt Waddell singled her out and made her feel useless.

Nguyen said she chose to enter the reality show because she wanted to share her story of growing up with refugee parents in the country.

Following her elimination, Nguyen remained positive and said that she is looking forward to marrying her fiance.
