MANILA -- Pinang (Erich Gonzales) and Phil (Daniel Matsunaga), the lead characters of the daytime hit "Be My Lady," finally tied the knot on Thursday, 10 months after the series debuted.

Pinang and Phil were in tears as they exchanged vows in Filipino, English and in Portuguese.

The TV wedding also set Twitter on fire, with the hashtag #BMLEverlastingVow topping the trending topics in the Philippines as it drew positive comments from netizens.

Directed by Theodore Boborol, "Be My Lady" tells the story of Pinang and Brazilian-Japanese Phil who find love despite their differences in language, beliefs and culture.

The series also stars Al Tantay, Janice de Belen, Priscilla Meirelles, Yayo Aguila, Almira Muhlach, Yves Flores, Karen Dematera, MJ Cayabyab, RK Bagatsing, Devon Seron, Karen Reyes, Mike Lloren, Ana Abad Santos, Perry Escano, Marife Necesito and the comedy trio No Direction.

"Be My Lady" is now down to its last six episodes and will be replaced by "Langit Lupa," which will debut on November 28.
