MANILA -- Television host-actress Mariel Rodriguez, the wife of action star Robin Padilla, gave birth to a baby girl on November 14 in the United States.

Baby Isabella is the first child of the celebrity couple, who got married on August 19, 2010 in India.

Last September, Rodriguez, who had suffered two miscarriages, flew to US to receive extra care during her delicate pregnancy.

Before giving birth, Padilla even posted a video showing his conversation with Rodriguez while she was in labor.

In the video, Padilla apologized to his wife for not being by her side.

Padilla who tried his best to get US visa to be with his wife, has to go through a more complicated procedure when applying for travel permits after he was convicted for possession of illegal firearms in 1994.
