James Reid was named Best Southeast Asia Act Award at the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Reid bested six other artists from Southeast Asia, including one nominee chosen by fans.

In his message, Reid thanked MTV for the award, and promised to keep on making music.

"It is such an honor to be representing the Philippines and with this recognition, I will keep on making music and bring the Philippines to the world stage," Reid said.

He also thanked everyone who voted for him.

"At siyempre, maraming maraming salamat po sa lahat ng bumoto sa akin. JaDine fans, mahal ko kayo," Reid said.

Reid was first nominated at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2015 for the same category, together with girlfriend Nadine Lustre.
