MANILA — “Here comes the bride, here comes the truth.”

That’s the apt title of a trailer for upcoming episodes of the afternoon drama “Kadenang Ginto,” where Romina (Beauty Gonzalez) will finally confront Robert (Albert Martinez) with her discovery of a dark truth.

Walking down the aisle in a gold wedding dress, Romina is anything but happy as she approaches Robert. On the contrary, she is simmering with rage, with the secret about to pour over.

Instead of giving her hand in marriage, she uses it to land a slap on her groom. “Para ‘yan sa pagtatago sa akin na ikaw ang gumahasa sa akin!” she says.

Recent weeks of “Kadenang Ginto” have been building up to the revelation of Cassie’s (Francine Diaz) biological father.

Despite evidence pointing to Robert, Romina had been in denial as it would mean that the man she loves was her unknown assailant that resulted in Cassie’s birth.

“‘Yung taong nirirespeto niyong lahat, isa siyang rapist!” a fuming Romina tells her wedding guests in the trailer.

The long-awaited confrontation harkens back and twists the depictions of the pilot week of “Kadenang Ginto,” which saw the mysterious assault and which painted the Mondragon patriarch as Romina’s savior.

Over a year since its Kapamilya Gold debut, “Kadenang Ginto” has remained the No. 1 television show in its time slot and an overall audience favorite in the country, on top of being a social media darling with its meme-worthy moments.
