MANILA - Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil left for South Korea Wednesday night to start shooting for their new Star Cinema movie "My Ex and Whys."

Headed by "Forevermore" director Cathy Garcia-Molina, the new romantic comedy will be about a former playboy (Gil) trying to prove to his ex-girlfriend (Soberano) that he's a changed man. The movie, the third topbilled by Gil and Soberano, is expected to hit theaters nationwide early next year.

"I'm super excited for the movie. It's a nice story, it's a nice movie, nakakatawa siya," shared Gil, to which Soberano added: "It's a very light movie, it's a movie [that will make] you fall in love all over again."

According to the pair, many will be able to relate to the main characters as the movie is about a man seeking redemption for his mistakes in the past, and a girl trying to shake off her fears of falling in love once more after getting her heart broken.

Asked if it will be as mature as some of the recent outings of their love team contemporaries, Soberano said: "I think it was just the right time for them to start [doing mature projects], pero we are still going to give it some time, pakaunti-unti lang iyong pagma-mature."
