It was an emotional episode for Kathrina Feigh on “The Voice US” after her mentor, Jennifer Hudson, chose Chris Weaver over her during the battle round of the competition.

While thanking Hudson following what she thought was her elimination, Feigh was surprised when Blake Shelton pressed the steal button and decided to take her into his team.

“You know being born in the Philippines and not having enough, I feel like I’ve already won, so thank you,” Feigh said before Shelton stole her.

During the battle round, Feigh and Weaver impressed the coaches of “The Voice” with their powerful rendition of “Dangerous Woman.”

Miley Cyrus lauded Feigh for showing off what else she could do aside from what she did during the blind audition.

“Kathrina, I don’t think I got to hear that power from you in your blind audition. You felt so settled into your lower register but still, you could go into those huge high notes. I think you just did such an amazing job going against Chris,” she said.

Adam Levine also commended Feigh for holding her ground and not letting Weaver overpower her.

“To go up against Chris is just absolutely terrifying and you did an incredible job. You were there with him,” he said.

As for Hudson, she said: “Kathrina, you held your own, honey. You did that. Your voice is huge and your presence that you came out with and you sold at that moment, I take my hat off to you for that.”

And as for Shelton, who is now Feigh’s coach, he said: “It’s apparent that you guys are both incredible singers. You have such good control and by that, I don’t mean as much vocally. It’s just having a grip on that song. Kathrina, you literally had the song by the throat and the only difference is Chris had the song by the throat and he was slapping it at the same time.”

Feigh is a musical theater graduate. Both of her parents are from Manila. Before taking the "The Voice" stage, she spoke of Filipinos' love for singing karaoke.
