MANILA - In previous years, Xian Lim has consistently made an extraordinary effort every time he would ask Kim Chiu to go with him to the Star Magic Ball.

This year, many are wondering if Lim has already asked Chiu to be his date because they haven’t posted anything about it on their social media accounts just days before Saturday's big event.

Chiu, however, maintained that Lim doesn’t have to do anything grand anymore just so she would go with him to the ball.

“Ilang years na rin siyang nagpaandar. Sa edad namin ngayon, okay lang kahit ano,” she said.

“Ilang years na ring may paandar so parang siguro, bigay mo na sa mga teenagers 'yung ganon. 'Yung mga bagets nga ngayon, paandar silang lahat. Ang cute tignan ng mga bata,” she added.

When directly asked if Lim has already invited her, Chiu said: “Wala pa.”

In a separate interview, Lim played coy when asked if he will ask Chiu to be his date.

"Tingnan natin, 'di natin alam," he briefly said.

Lim said he is just excited for the ball where he would get to spend time with the other Star Magic artists.

"I'm just looking forward to having a relaxed night and having fun with my co-actors. Kasi 'yun nga, it never happens. Kapag nasa set kayo, you can't be relaxed na chummy-chummy and mingling, so this is a time to kind of unwind and get to know people," he said.

Meanwhile, Chiu clarified that everything is okay between her and Lim contrary to rumors that they have “broken up.”

“Okay naman kami. Mayroon lang kaming mga separate projects na ginagawa. We are okay. We are fine. Nagpo-promote siya ng album niya and upcoming movie. Ako naman, may ‘Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin’ tapos may upcoming movie also. Medyo busy lang talaga,” she said.

Speculations began about when Chiu was cast alongside her ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson in the series, "Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin." Fans were quick to draw conclusions that Lim allegedly became jealous, resulting in their breakup.

Will she and Lim be doing any projects together again soon?

“Wala pa. Solo solo muna kami ngayon. Siguro 'yung management gusto for us to grow individually,” she said.
