MANILA -- Actress Ai Ai delas Alas confirmed that she has a prenuptial agreement with her 23-year-old fiancé Gerald Sibayan.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News and other reporters on Wednesday, delas Alas revealed that it was Sibayan who suggested it.

"Mayroon kami kaya lang confidential, hindi pinag-uusapan kasi ayaw ng lawyer. Hanggang doon lang ang pwedeng sabihin kasi sabi ng lawyer confidential, if ever magtanong sila sabihin mo na lang na 'oo,' pero no details," delas Alas said.

The 52-year-old Delas Alas added that aside from Sibayan, her mother also suggested that they have a prenup contract.

"Usually naman ang nanay ko ang palaging may gusto at 'yung family din ni Gerald," she added.

But Delas Alas, who is starring in the upcoming comedy movie "Bes and the Beshies" with Zsa Zsa Padilla, Carmi Martin and Beauty Gonzales, which opens in cinemas on October 18, stressed that for her a prenuptial agreement should not be an issue.

"Alam mo 'yung sa ganyan para na lang din sa kapayapaan ni Gerald para wala na siyang basher. Pero sa mag-asawa naman ke normal o artista eh wala naman yon, pera lang naman 'yon. Kumbaga di 'yon ang batayan nang pagsasama niyo ng matagal. Nasa inyo 'yon kung magkakaintindihan kayo. Although kailangan niyo 'yon as mag-asawa pero di 'yon ang essence ng pagmamahal," delas Alas said.

"Kasi siyempre [dalawang] beses na akong ikinasal at hindi din guarantee na kapag may prenup ka ay hindi makukuhaan ng pera. Kapag gusto kang lokohin o gusto kang huthutan, magagawa niya 'yon," she added.

Marrying for the right reason

On Monday, photos of their prenup shoot circulated online. Delas Alas said the shoot was held in Cebu at the Temple of Leah.

"First time ko nag-prenup, masaya. Saka feeling ko dalaga ako," she said.

"Kaya ako magpapakasal kasi mahal ko si Gerald at gusto naming magsama na forever. Noon kasi maraming hidden agenda kung bakit gusto kong makasal, gusto kong mang-inis, siguro na karma din ako noon, but this time all out of love," delas Alas said.

"Dati kasi maraming hindi tamang dahilan, pero ngayon, dahil mahal ko si Gerald at inayos ko ang buhay ko," added delas Alas who will have a wedding church for the first time.

"('Yung dalawang nauna) nag-start ng mali, kasi may third-party involved. Eto (kay Gerald) wala," the comedienne stressed.

Sibayan and delas Alas are set to get married this December in Manila. "Nasa 300 (ang guests) bawal gatecrashers," delas Alas said.

Some of the celebrities who will be part of her entourage are Sharon Cuneta, Marian Rivera, Bayani Agbayani, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Rufa Mae Quinto, Jose Manalo, Pops Fernandez, Piolo Pascual, Randy Santiago, Jerald Napoles, Valeen Montenegro and Barbie Forteza.

Asked about the theme of her wedding, delas Alas said: "Colorful, fiesta."

For her gown, delas Alas said it will be designed by Frederick Peralta while film director Louie Ignacio is in charge of her hand-painted veil.

After the wedding, the couple will be going Europe for their honeymoon.
