John Prats is known as an actor ever since he was a kid.

And now it's likely that he'll be able to add director to his name after he was seen trying out his hand at it on Wednesday's episode of "Tonight with Boy Abunda".

Prats, who first joined showbiz in 1992, shared his experience on the director's chair when he orchestrated the late-night talk show with the help of his mentor and guide, Arnel Natividad.

The "Banana Sundae" mainstay also thanked other directors such as Jon Moll, Laurenti Dyogi, and Reily Santiago in his Instagram post.

"Marami akong natututunan sa every training day natin," he told Natividad. "Lagi akong looking forward na magkita tayo para marami po akong malaman. Kinabahan nga lang po ako sa pagbinyag ninyo sa akin sa booth. Pero tama po kayo, kailangan kong gawin agad para matuto."

He then addressed his fans: "Ipagdasal nyo po sana ako sa bagong journey ko na ito."

Natividad had nothing but good words for Prats' directorial debut. Sharing a photo of the actor working, he wrote: "Mentoring a future director."

It remains unclear when Prats, who already has a fondness for photography based on his Instagram page, started training for directing.

He did post early this month of a photo of him checking out the director's table of "Little Big Shots," the new Billy Crawford-hosted variety show focusing on talented kids.
