To say that fans have been hotly anticipating "The Hows of Us" is an understatement.

Early Wednesday, photos and videos of the long lines to catch the first screenings in malls flooded social media, helping illustrate the hype for Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's first movie since 2015.

And this excitement swirling around the film -- which sees the duo play a couple who go through a rough patch in their long-term relationship-- only grew as the initial fan reactions began coming in.

The general consensus appears to be that this is Padilla's and Bernardo's best performance to date, and that it is best to bring rolls of tissue paper inside the cinemas for when one inevitably cries.

It's tempting to say that this is all par for the course when it comes to a film starring the phenomenal love team, but some fans went a notch higher when they prepared a photo exhibit tracing the many movies of Bernardo and Padilla in a cinema lobby.

There's no doubt that fans are looking to make what could possibly be the last KathNiel movie -- released midweek -- to be directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina a box-office success, holding plenty of block screenings.

And it seems their efforts are paying off as Star Cinema executive Mico del Rosario could not help but exclaim on his own Twitter account: "NAKAKAIYAK! MARAMING SALAMAT LORD! FIRST HOUR!!! CONGRATULATIONS TEAM"

The initial box office take of the movie is expected to be announced sometime later tonight.
