MANILA - Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga were all praises for actress Bela Padilla, who wrote the script of their upcoming reunion movie "Last Night."

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday, Gonzaga admitted that the primary factor that made her agree to do the dark romantic-comedy film was its script.

Pascual feels the material is perfect for him and Gonzaga since both of them have already matured.

'Last Night' is all about choices. Siyempre hindi na rin naman kami bata ni Tin para magpa-tweetums sa pelikula," he said.

Padilla, for her part, feels flattered that it will be Pascual and Gonzaga who will bring her characters to life.

I'm very happy na ito 'yung team na gumawa kasi nobody could have played it better," she said.

The last time Pascual and Gonzaga teamed up for a movie was the blockbuster hit "Starting Over Again" back in 2014.

Three years later, Pascual said he noticed a lot of changes with the way Gonzaga handles herself in front of the camera.

"All positive naman. Reserved pa din naman si Tin. Manang talaga iyan. Pero mas daring siya ngayon. Mas kilala na niya ang sarili niya. Mas sigurado siya sa ginagawa niya so mas masarap siyang kaeksena because ang laki ng maturity niya sa acting and the way she presents herself," he said.

Is there any pressure to replicate the success of their last movie together?

Naniniwala talaga ako sa materyal," Gonzaga said.

For his part, Pascual said: "'Yung Starting Over,' from the get go, sabi ni Tin tatabo daw 'yun. Ako I was so unsure sabi ko bahala na si Batman. Pero naniwala si Tin. Naniniwala ako ulit ngayon kay Tin," he said.

Produced by Star Cinema, "Last Night" is slated to be released by the end of September.
