MANILA - "Okay naman ako."

This was the statement of actor JC De Vera after his name was dragged into the recent feud between Paul Salas and Daniel Padilla.

Asked to react to the "Twitter war" between the two young actors, De Vera said he believes the issue was blown out of proportion.

"As in lahat kami peaceful naman, wala namang nangyaring away talaga," he told ABS-CBN News on Thursday.

"Pinalaki lang actually ng mga tao, pero wala namang serious na away na nangyari," he added.

Padilla and Salas had a heated exchange of tweets after the latter made fun of the "La Luna Sangre" star for being agitated by a hard foul committed by De Vera during a basketball game.

De Vera and Padilla have immediately settled the matter. Salas has also explained his side of the story, saying that what happened was a misunderstanding.

Meanwhile, De Vera said he has already talked to Padilla's father, actor Rommel Padilla, about the incident.

He and the older Padilla are part of the hit afternoon series "The Better Half."

"Nag-usap na kami," he said. "Sabi niya, very natural lang 'yon, kasi basketball."

In a separate interview, Padilla's father said: "Nagba-basketball din ako, kasali sa laro 'yon... Physical game ang basketball. Nagkataon gustong manalo ng isa, gusto ring manalo ng isa. Nagkaroon ng box out dito. It's part of the game."
