MANILA – Actor Paul Salas has finally broken his silence after getting involved in a heated exchange of tweets with “La Luna Sangre” lead star Daniel Padilla.”

Their row stemmed from Salas’s comment about the recently concluded Star Magic All Star basketball game, which Padilla found “disrespectful.”

In an interview with ABS-CBN News’ Gretchen Fullido, Salas explained that what happened was just a misunderstanding.

“Nung tinuweet niya (Daniel) pa lang ako, hiningi ko na agad 'yung number ni Marco (Gumabao) kasi sa Twitter lang kami nagkaka-followan, sila Patrick (Sugui), mga barkada niya,” Salas began.

“Sabi ko, sana naman maintindihan nila kasi ‘di ba, sa lalaki kasi, pagdating sa basketball, trash talk-an iyan eh. In-explain ko din naman kila Marco. Naintindihan naman daw nila kaso medyo nabastos nga daw si DJ. So sabi ko pasensya na,” he continued.

Salas stressed that he has nothing against Padilla or his friends. He also reiterated that he already apologized to them.

“Si DJ nakasama ko na din sa movie niya, best friend niya ako doon. In-explain ko din sa kanila na nagka-misunderstanding lang kami. Pero in-explain ko sa kanila na at the end of the day, trash talk lang naman. Wala naman akong hate against them,” he said.

When asked if their faceoff in the hard court will still push through, Salas quipped: “Tuloy naman ang game namin, friendly game. Ewan pa kung kailan magkatugma 'yung sched namin nila DJ, ng mga kaibigan niya kasi medyo busy din sila.”

In a previous interview, Padilla clarified that he is not mad at Salas, but was offended by what he did. He has also asked his loyal fans, who have been bashing Salas, to stop and "move on."

"Maraming nagtanggol sa akin pero tama na ang pamba-bash, OK na iyon. Ako naman, hindi ko naman intention na kaya ko sinagot para ma-bash din siya, sinagot ko siya para malaman niya na alam ko iyong ginagawa nila," he said.
