MANILA - A veteran band singer from Metro Manila ended on Saturday the four-day reign of defending "Tawag ng Tanghalan" champion Sam Mangubat.

Aileen Udtog, who hails from San Juan City, sang Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel" for the daily finals for an average score of 94.8 percent, defeating Mangubat by less than two points. Mangubat sang "World of our Own" by 90's boy band, Westlife.

Udtog, 36, said she would use her cash prize to start a business. She will return to the "It's Showtime" stage on Monday to defend her title.
