MANILA - It's a girl for celebrity couple Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez. The two revealed the gender of their baby on Saturday in a party attended by close friends and some members of the press held at the Le Jardin in Taguig.

The dinner celebration triples as a birthday bash for Rodriguez, who turned 32 last Wednesday, and an anniversary marker for the couple, who has been married since 2010.

Rodriguez first confirmed her pregnancy in May, eight months after suffering her second miscarriage. She lost her first pregnancy in March last year. Her husband, Padilla, described their would-be-child as a "miracle."

Rodriguez, who is undergoing heparin treatment to help in her delivery, announced early this month that she would take a break from her hosting duties to "fight" for her baby's life.
