MANILA – “Finally Found Someone” has breached the P200-million mark less than two weeks since it debuted in Philippine cinemas.

The gross, which was announced by lead star John Lloyd Cruz, reflects only the movie’s local earnings.

"Nagpapasalamat po kami dahil pinaabot niyo po sa 200 million [pesos] ang kinita na so far ng aming maliit na pelikula," Cruz said in a message posted online on Wednesday.

As of writing, the movie is also showing in select theaters in the Middle East, Brunei, Papua New Guinea, United States, Saipan, Canada, Guam, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Denmark and in Malta, among others.

Starring Cruz with onscreen partner Sarah Geronimo, “Finally Found Someone” opened in theaters last July 26.

Directed by Theodore Boborol, “Finally Found Someone” tells the story of Aprilyn (Geronimo), who found herself heartbroken after being left at the altar. She later on met Cruz’s character, Raffy, who will “help her find her happy ending.”

Formerly titled "Dear Future Husband," it is Geronimo and Cruz's first movie together in four years.

Other films featuring the tandem include “It Takes a Man and a Woman” (2013), “You Changed My Life” (2009), and “A Very Special Love” (2008), all of which are box office hits.
