MANILA - A six-year old girl who sang a mash-up of hits from pop queens Lady Gaga and Madonna advanced to the next round of "The Voice Kids" on Saturday.

Waynehart Claire Geonzon, together with Marcuz Bracia and Matthew Esconde, from coach Lea Salonga's team, performed "Born This Way" and "Express Yourself."

Broadway star Salonga praised all of her three wards but eventually picked Geonzon to move on the sing off round.

"You knew exactly where you needed to go, what you needed to do, how you needed to sing," Salonga said.

Geonzon charmed the coaches despite having difficulty memorizing the lyrics because she doesn't know how to read yet.

"Hindi po ako nakakabasa," Geonzon said, adding her father helped her practice.

"The Voice Kids," hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo, and Kim Chiu, airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and on Sundays after "Goin' Bulilit."
