MANILA - Television host Mariel Rodriguez has gone on a leave from work for her baby.

Rodriguez, who suffered two miscarriages last year, said in an interview aired on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" that she is grateful that ABS-CBN understands her delicate situation.

"I'll always be grateful to my 'It's Showtime' family, to my 'PBB' family, to ABS-CBN: Thank you so much. You don't know how much it means to me na naiintindihan nila. I'm fighting for my baby's life so talagang karee-rin ko muna ito," she said.

Rodriguez first suffered a miscarriage in March last year. She then lost a triplets pregnancy six months later. For her third pregnancy, she is undergoing heparin treatment to boost her chances of giving birth.

Her husband, Robin Padilla, earlier explained that it is the happiness his wife feels when she is working that allows her to forget her tragic miscarriages and face her new pregnancy in a positive attitude.
