MANILA – Julia Barretto is looking forward to doing the film adaptation of a story that started as a viral hit on social media.

Now titled “Vince, Kath and James,” the movie will feature Barretto, Joshua Garcia and Ronnie Alonte.

“Kung iba ang ginagawa ko sa serye, ito mas iba talaga. It’s a dream come true actually because I’ve always wanted to do a rom-com film. Finally magagawa ko na siya and it’s a light story,” Barretto said in an interview with ABS-CBN News on Tuesday.

Since this is an adaptation, Barretto said she is excited for the followers of the book to see how she, Garcia and Alonte will give life to the characters through a movie.

Meanwhile, Barretto shared that she has already started taping for the upcoming series “The Second Wife.”

“I’ve done my first day and it was so much fun. The set was very light. Tito Ian (Veneracion) was very nice, he’s my dad on the show. Si JK (Labajo) na napakasaya sa set, kapatid ko siya sa show. I’m actually excited for this to come out because it’s very different from everything I’ve done. I’m so grateful for this opportunity,” she said.

Part of her preparations for her role on the series is getting in shape because she is playing a ballerina.

“I’ve been active sa gym recently. I’ve been trying to be kinder to my body by just eating stuff that will be good to my body. Of course I want to look good when I start wearing ballerina clothes for the serye,” she said.

How will her role be different from the past ones that she has already portrayed?

“May lalim 'yung character. It’s just different. I’m a ballerina. I don’t know if malalagay ko talaga sa words kung paano siya naiiba sa past roles ko but I think it’s nicer if they just witness it for themselves,” she said.

Aside from Barretto and Veneracion, the show will also star Bea Alonzo, Iza Calzado and Enchong Dee, among others.
