"BuyBust," the action film debut of superstar Anne Curtis, marked its Philippine opening day with a coveted 100% "fresh" rating from review-aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes.

Director Erik Matti, who has dubbed the project the most challenging in his storied career with over two years of production, shared the good news on his Instagram page Wednesday.

Posting a screenshot of the score, Matti wrote: "As if today is not important enough. We open in over 170 cinemas nationwide. And... Rotten Tomatoes score just hit 100%! Iho de puga guid!"

As of writing, the "Tomatometer" of "BuyBust" is based on five published reviews from accredited critics of the website, including those from Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and Screen International.

The counted reviews so far are not enough to form a critical consensus, another feature of Rotten Tomatoes that determines whether a film is "certified fresh," or "rotten." However, more reviews are expected in the coming weeks, as "BuyBust" is set to be released in North America on August 10, via distributor Well Go USA.

The North American trailer of "BuyBust" highlights the rave reviews it has received, including being likened to "Mad Max: Fury Road" by Screen International, and being called "a must-see" by Variety.

"BuyBust," a co-production of Viva Films and Reality Entertainment, got early international reviews after its participation in numerous international film festivals in July, including the New York Asian Film Festival, South Korea's Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, and Canada's Fantasia Film Festival.
