MANILA -- "It's Showtime" host and newly elected Makati councilor Jhong Hilario is going the extra mile to further his legislative knowledge by taking a specialized course.

On Tuesday, the 39-year-old Hilario shared a snapshot of the course's module.

Entitled "Makati City: Gearing Up for Legislative Enhancement and Productivity," the program is offered to the members of the city council to hone their competence as law makers.

Hilario temporarily left "It's Showtime" last February to focus on his campaign. His efforts paid off as he topped his district, garnering a total of 80,692 votes.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, he said he is dedicating his victory to his father, Virgilio Hilario, who was a Makati councilor for nine years.

Shortly after his landslide victory, Hilario returned to the noontime variety show on May 24.
