MANILA - A 12-year-old poor boy with an ailing father is moving past the Battle Rounds of "The Voice Kids" after outlasting two other young artists during Saturday's episode.

Bernard Badato, whose father had to give up selling street food because of his worsening condition, sang Apo Hiking Society's "Doo Bidoo" with teammates Arnie Maun and Miguel Suarez.

"Ang nagustuhan ko sa iyo ay pag kumakanta ka, toe to head, buong katawan mo ang kumakanta," coach Bamboo Mañalac told Badato, before picking the kid from Camarines Norte as the best performer among the three.

Badato, the youngest of four siblings, joins Kyle Mallari, who booked his place in the Sing-Offs last weekend after singing Ariana Grande's "Almost Is Never Enough."
