MANILA – Former "Pinoy Dream Academy" runner-up Jay-R Siaboc appeared on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” on Monday to share his whole side of the story one week after he surrendered to the police for allegedly being a drug pusher.

Siaboc said he showed up at the police station in Toledo City, Cebu last week after a friend paid him a visit at his house talking about a supposed “watch list” of illegal drug users and pushers.

“Walang pinakitang listahan pero natatakot po ako dahil sabi nasa ‘watch list’ daw. Pumunta ako para klaruhin kung totoo ba or hindi,” he told host Boy Abunda.

Narrating what happened at the police station, Siaboc recalled: “Sabi nila sa kain, sige tatanggalin nga daw 'yung pangalan ko sa sinasabing ‘watch list.’ Tapos may pina-fill up sila sa akin. The rest po ng nangyari doon, naki-cooperate ako sa kanila. Gusto ko lang po talaga klaruhin, linisin na hindi po totoo 'yung sinasabi nila.”

Because the form was labeled confidential, Siaboc said he was surprised that what he did still came out in the news the following day.

“May ibang grupo daw kasing mag-iimbestiga, para daw makita 'yung pangalan ko doon. Hindi na ako tatanungin pa kasi nakita na may form na nakalagay doon. Tapos nakalagay doon confidential. The next day, lumabas 'yung balita. Siguro may nakakita sa akin na pumunta doon tapos pinagkalat ang balita. Ganun siguro ang nangyari,” he said.

Siaboc said he wanted to clear his name because he feared for his life, especially now with the government's campaign against illegal drugs.

“Natakot po ako dahil sa mga nangyayari ngayon. [Natakot ako dahil] nagtutulak daw ako, lalo na narinig ko sa nasa ‘watch list,’ ibig sabihin ay priority ka,” he said.

However, Siaboc did not deny that he also used illegal drugs before he had his own family.

“Yun po 'yung panahon na 'yung career ko po pababa na. Napunta po ako sa mga maling impluwensya. Mga nangyari po sa akin na hindi ko po kaya i-handle sa sarili ko kaya napupunta ako sa mga maling decision,” he said.

Turning emotional, Siaboc reiterated that he is not selling illegal drugs contrary to rumors.

“Gusto ko lang po sabihin na 'yung balita po na nagtutulak po kami, sobrang hindi po totoo 'yun. Nasasaktan po ako, 'yung pamilya ko. Natatakot kami sa buhay namin. Lahat ginagawa ko para sa pamilya ko sa maayos na pamamaraan, na pamumuhay. Please lang, namumuhay kami ng maayos, tahimik. Ayaw na po namin matakot talaga. May anak na ako, may pamilya ako,” he said.

Asked what is his takeaway from all this, Siaboc said: “Natutunan ko na dapat pa mas pahalagahan ang mga bagay na dumadating sa buhay natin dahil 'yun po ang hindi ko nagawa nung nasa akin pa ang lahat.”

Siaboc also said he is willing to go back to the music industry if he would be given another chance.
