She remembers falling short of reaching the grand finals of a season "Star Circle Quest" when she was still a kid -- dashing early her dreams of making it as an actress.

She also remembers being told that her voice wasn't fit for singing contests every time she lost one, and how she failed in her first attempt at "Tawag ng Tanghalan."

All these heartbreaking stumbles should've stripped Janine Berdin of her passion for both acting and singing. But luckily it didn't, and now, not only can she call herself a "Tawag" grand champion, she can also proudly boast of starring in a "Maalaala Mo Kaya" episode based on her inspiring life story about not giving up.

Berdin happily confirmed to Push plans to dramatize her story for the long-running drama anthology, admitting that she did not think twice when she was presented with the offer to act.

"Isa din po siya sa mga passion ko," she said.

She explained that she had some acting experiences as a kid "kaya if ever bigyan po nila ako ng chance na mag-acting, siyempre with wholeheartedly ko pong tatanggapin iyon."

There's no release date yet on her episode, nor did she reveal when they plan to start shooting it.

Berdin won the last season of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" last month. She's scheduled to headline a concert featuring the best contestants from the singing contest this July, and has just released her first single, titled "Biyaya."
