MANILA - Three contestants from Lea Salonga's team were among the first youngsters who battled it out in the Battle Rounds of "The Voice Kids" on Sunday.

Eleana Gabunada, Faye Miguel and Yessha Dela Calzada were tasked to sing Donna Cruz's "Rain."

After their performance, Bamboo Mañalac picked Miguel, while Sharon Cuneta picked Dela Calzada as the best performer in the group.

Salonga also picked Dela Calzada, who will be moving on to the next round.

"I felt very proud dahil sa murang edad niyo, nagbigay kayo ng vocally strong, emotionally konektadong performance. Each of you are talented, beautiful, grounded, strong singers. This is the sad part for me, I can only pick one of you," she said before picking Dela Calzada.

"The Voice Kids," hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo, and Kim Chiu, airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and on Sundays after "Goin' Bulilit."
