MANILA — Nearly a month after his “Wowowin” appearance resulted in a cute and hilarious viral video, young Kapamilya fan Jed finally greeted the correct “madlang people” as he set foot inside the “It’s Showtime” studio on Saturday.

Jed joined the opening minutes of the ABS-CBN noontime program, where he also got to meet his idol, Hashtags member and actor Ronnie Alonte. The two even had a dance showdown.

“What’s up, madlang people?” Jed greeted the live audience with the same energy he had when he became a “Wowowin” contestant in June.

At the time, when Jed was interviewed host Willie Revillame, the child identified Cardo (Coco Martin) of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” and Alonte as his idols — both from ABS-CBN.

“Wowowin” is aired by ABS-CBN rival GMA-7 — but that did not stop the amused Revillame from asking further questions, ultimately leading to the viral moment of Jed using the term of “It’s Showtime” for its loyal viewers.

Despite the so-called “network wars,” Revillame has maintained warm ties with the mainstays of “It’s Showtime.” Earlier in June, in fact, he went on air on the Kapamilya show via phone patch, after a contestant nearly said “Wowowin.”

The slip of tongue snowballed into a memorable TV moment, where Revillame candidly reminded the “It’s Showtime” hosts that he formerly occupied their noontime slot.
