MANILA – Jaclyn Jose does not seem to mind that there are still some people who doubt her talent even after she won the best actress award at the 69th Cannes Film Festival for her performance in "Ma' Rosa."

In an interview with entertainment site PEP, Jose said she was already expecting to get negative comments even before the Brillante Mendoza movie opened in Philippine theaters last week.

You cannot please everyone. Basta nasa akin na si Palme d’Or, wala na silang magagawa,” she said.

Jose is also aware that her daughter, actress Andi Eigenmann, lashed out at one of her detractors on social media who thinks she does not deserve the award.

“Mamaya kakausapin ko, sasabihin ko sa kanya, ‘Anak, hayaan mo sila, they have the right to say whatever they like.' Hindi nila maano na 'yun,’” she said.

Jose said she has been so blessed such that getting bashed on social media is the least of her problems.

“Marami pang pupuntahang festivals.
