MANILA – Luis Manzano denied rumors that his girlfriend, actress Jessy Mendiola, was axed from the ABS-CBN gag show “Banana Sundae” supposedly for having an attitude problem.

“No, no naman. Those details, hahayaan ko na sa production, baka kung ano pa ang masagot ko,” he told PEP in an interview.

Manzano lamented that many people are being deceived by false reports.

“May mga kinausap ako kung ano talaga ang nangyari sa isang incident. Pero sa dami ng nabasa kong articles, 90 percent ng nabasa ko, untrue. It’s sad people would still believe that 90 percent,” he said.

Reiterating that Mendiola wasn’t removed from the show as reports claim, Manzano said his girlfriend also wants to take this opportunity to rest.

“I know Jessy, it had nothing to do with that. Jessy din wants to rest... I think she will do another one soon. Mayroon siyang aayusin na show very soon, so she has to take care of that,” he said.

Manzano said he admires Mendiola for being tough amid all of these intrigues.

“Kahit naman ako, we all have our moments, kahit pa ang pinakamatapang. Pero sabi ko nga, she’s the strongest person I know sa lahat ng nangyari, and I appreciate her even more,” he said.

Manzano and Mendiola marked their first year as a couple last month.
