Vice Ganda delivered an empowering cover of "This Is Me" to open the grand finals of "Miss Q&A," the highly-popular "It's Showtime" segment in which transgender contestants across the country get to show off their wit and beauty.

The comedian and movie star, an LGBT icon in the country, began his performance by emotionally scribbling out words of hate from a board, visually representing the overall message of the anthemic song from the Hollywood film "The Greatest Showman."

It moved viewers online to tears, with many describing the opener as "beautiful" and heartfelt."

The "Miss Q&A" finals was scheduled this Saturday, the culmination of this year's Pride Month in the Philippines, and saw the finalists come out in rainbow colors to celebrate LGBT identity.

The winner will win P1 million cash, in addition to other prizes. It serves as the conclusion to a year-long segment, which became a fan favorite thanks to sharp-witted answers and hilarious contestants.
