MANILA – One month since it was reported that JC de Vera has become a father, the actor finally opened up about having his own child for the first time.

In an exclusive interview at the sidelines of Under Armour’s Test of Will event on Sunday, de Vera said he is delighted to have welcomed his now two-month old daughter.

“Mas naging responsible ako in all aspects of life. Mas naging compassionate ako kasi meron akong daughter na,” he told ABS-CBN News as he shared how fatherhood has changed him.

The actor said he has also become more careful in everything that he does.

“Hindi lang puro trabaho na 'yung ginagawa ko. I now have my small family na kailangan kong buhayin. So ngayon mas naging dedicated talaga ako. Mas naging more energetic din dahil sa daughter ko,” he said.

“Lahat ng ginagawa ko is for them na, not anymore for me lang,” he added.

De Vera is currently part of the ABS-CBN series “Since I Found You” which airs from Monday to Friday. He is also part of the Sunday comedy show “Banana Sundae” and will soon start working on “The General’s Daughter,” which is another Kapamilya series.

Without going into details, de Vera likewise talked about how they marked last week’s Father’s Day as a family.

“Very, very simple lang. Naging simple person ako ever since. Hindi ako mahilig sa mga fancy things like surprises and parties. We celebrated Father’s Day through a simple lunch and dinner lang with my small family,” he said.
