Sharon Cuneta made an appearance on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" on Friday to explain the reason behind her much-talked about solo trip to the US.

Reiterating that she took a break from work to "recharge” herself following the death of some of her closest friends such as Willy Cruz, the songwriter who composed some of her biggest hits, she said: "I needed a change of environment. I'm only human."

She continued by admitting that she has begun worrying about trivial things: "I'm no longer 30. I am nearing the end as opposed to before. And did I really live the life that I wanted to? Did I make the right decisions? I realized that many, many times, I did not. Because I was considerate of other people's feelings at my expense."

The Megastar also addressed suggestions that she and Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan are having marital problems.

Describing their marriage as imperfect, Cuneta said tongue in cheek: "There are times na gusto mong iwan. There are times na gusto mong patayin. Ganoon lang naman, lahat mag-asawa. I'm just being frank and honest."

Turning serious, she said: "He's [Kiko] is a very good man, that's why I married him. It's just that we didn't grow up in the same household, with the same parents. Of course, we are two different people."

Cuneta went on to claim that Pangilinan's exclusion from her list of "people she would give her life for" was exaggerated. "Kasi pinanganak ko iyong mga iyon at iyong isa ay inampon ko at sinumpa ko na maging nanay. Hindi ko naman pinagbuntis si Kiko."
