MANILA - Kris Aquino on Sunday vehemently denied that she and Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, who lost in the vice presidential race, met in Hawaii recently to plot against incoming President Rodrigo Duterte.
Aquino took to Instagram to refute the rumors, which was published by a website, saying she has never spoken against Duterte.
She even challenged her detractors to search for a previous "Kris TV" episode where she expressed her desire to undergo an on-the-job training in Davao City.
In the June 5, 2013 episode of "Kris TV," the host-actress told Duterte of her plan to seek his guidance in the field of public service.
Early that year, Aquino said she was considering running for public office in Tarlac, her late parents' home province.
"Check every post, interview, speech, kahit pa print pa natin lahat ng text messages ko - I have never spoken against President Elect Duterte - hanapin nyo pa his Kris Tv guesting when we taped in Davao & I said wish kong mag OJT sa city hall nya," she said in her post on Sunday.
Aquino said she decided to address this issue because she does not want "the malicious liars succeed by keeping quiet."
"I debated whether to address this chismis about Sen. Trillanes & me, heard about it yesterday from a cousin, a close friend, and an ABS coworker. I realized I'd let the malicious liars succeed by keeping quiet because by ignoring the made up Hawaii meet up- may maniniwala & may madadagdag na teleserye plot twists," she said.
Aquino then challenged those who made up the false news to do better next time if they plan on ruining her reputation.
"I do have this venue w/ more than 2 million followers to tell the TRUTH. HINDI KAMI NAGTAGPO SA HAWAII ni Senator Trillanes. Kung gagawa ng script para siraan ako - mas galingan nyo naman please???" she stated.
Currently, Aquino is having some time off from showbiz with her sons Joshua and Bimby.
