MANILA - The brother of Korean pop star Sandara Park has earned himself some new fans in the Philippines after he sang a cover of "Farewell," an original composition from Filipino singer Raymond Lauchengco.
Park Sang-hyun, who goes by the stage name Cheondung, sang the cover with fellow Korean singer JeA of the pop group Brown Eyed Girls.
According to JeA, she chose to cover "Farewell" after hearing the local graduation ceremony staple from Filipino kids during her visit to the country for voluntary work.
She also said that she picked Cheondung, a former member of boy group MBLAQ, as her duet partner because he spent his childhood in the Philippines.
Cheondung lived in the Philippines prior to Park's decision to move back to South Korea in order to pursue a career as a singer for the pop group 2NE1. He followed suit and debuted as a member of MBLAQ in 2009.
Cheondung posted a link of the video on his Twitter account. It has since been retweeted by his sister. As of writing, the video has tens of thousands of views on both Facebook and YouTube.
