MANILA - The night before the grand finals of "Pilipinas Got Talent," Anjanette and Gervin, collectively known as Power Duo, sat at a hotel room.

They went over their routine, offered a prayer or two, and had a conversation. Basically, anything to help battle their insomnia and shake off their jitters.

"Hindi po talaga kami makatulog noon," admitted Gervin in an interview on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" on Thursday. He said that their conversation led to one thing after another and he eventually decided to confess his love for Anjanette.

"Nagsabi po siya ng 'I love you' sa akin. Ako naman po, totoo naman po ang nararamdaman ko para sa kanya so nagsabi din po ako ng 'I love you too," Anjanette continued, as the real-life couple recalled the start of their love story on the late night talk show.

When Anjanette and Gervin joined the talent contest in January, the latter said that he was just courting his dance partner. During the semi-finals a couple of months later, the two said that they shared only a "mutual understanding."

The judges, however, were unconvinced.

It was Power Duo's evident chemistry on-and-off the stage that won over most of the viewers and landed them the grand prize of P2 million, among others during the grand finals held at the Mall of Asia Arena last Sunday.

"Sa mundong punong puno ng napakaraming taong nananakit, pinaniwala niyo ulit ako sa pag-ibig. That was not just dance, that was love. And tonight, love wins," comedian Vice Ganda, one of the judges, told them.

"Sa amin po, iyong nararamdaman ko po para kay Anj ay totoo po talaga," explained Gervin, as he addressed their critics who were questioning their love for each other.

"Nasa tao na lang po iyon kung ano ang pananaw nila kasi alam ko naman po na mayroon tayong iba't ibang opinyon po," he added.
