MANILA – Former beauty queen-turned-actress Alma Concepcion was among the thousands who attended the “Close Up Forever Summer” event at the SM Mall of Asia open parking lot last Saturday.

The event made headlines after five people who attended the concert died. As of writing, authorities are still investigating claims that drug-laced drinks were distributed at the concert.

In her personal Facebook page, Concepcion wrote a lengthy post narrating an incident that she witnessed which involved some teenagers who “were obviously into something else.”

“I saw the teenagers dancing, wearing shades, masks, chewing gums they came in prepared with all the props. Masks, inhalers, lights, shades, bandanna to cover face. They don't look like first timers in taking ecstacy,” she wrote, referring to the so-called party drug.

“They danced for more than an hour, none of them holding any liquid. Obviously they weren't on JUST alcohol.. their eyes were rolling, teeth grinding, & they were dancing non stop for the whole hour (or more than). No liquids,” she said.

Then she saw a girl slowly collapsing.

“I saw this girl from that same group slowly going down on the floor and reaching out to her bf... her eyes were still open, when she hugged the guy, i noticed something wrong.. her hands became stiff,” she wrote, unedited.

Concepcion said she approached the group to tell them to find the medics while her friend called security.

“As the bf was trying to carry the girl, i saw her legs stiffen together with the arms.. we hoped on our way home that she's ok. and suddenly, we found out today that a teenage girl, ‪#‎BiancaFontejon died from the event last night. I hope shes not the same girl,” she said.

“We ate there, bought our drinks there and got from johnny walker booth.. we slept good without hangover,, the food and drinks we had were all clean,” she added, un.

To end her post, Concepcion said: “RIP to those who died from last night.. never overestimate your bodies.. to parents with teenagers like me, let this serve as a lesson to all of us and our kids.”

Close-up and its media partner, Eventscape, said in a joint statement that stringent measures and precautions were put in place to ensure the safety of all concert attendees.

They added that strict protocols were followed in providing immediate medical assistance to the victims and in rushing them to the nearest hospital.

They also committed their support to the families of the victims while ensuring full cooperation with the police investigations.

SM Supermalls, likewise, expressed its sympathies. Company president Annie Garcia said SM is assisting the event organizers and authorities in their investigation.
